405 Bourke is one of Melbourne’s largest commercial buildings, with 40 stories and reaching approx. 167 meters in height. The tower provides 66,000sqm of commercial space that is fully occupied by the National Bank of Australia (NAB).

Smoke Signals Fire Protection team installed a tailored fire detection and evacuation solution using the FireFinder PLUS Addressable Fire Alarm Control Panel, EV3000 Emergency Warning and Intercom System, and SmartGraphics Graphical Event Management System.

The Fire Detection System included 37 x Addressable Loops, 43 x Mechanical Fan Override Switches, 32 x Damper Override Switches, 47 x Sprinkler Solenoid Switches, 30 x Pedestrian Gate Interfaces, 12 x Curtain Interfaces, BMS High-Level Interface, and Beam Detection in the main lobby.

The Emergency Warning and Intercom System included 40 x Emergency Warning System (EWS) Zones, 58 x Warden Intercom Points, approximately 2500 x speakers, 100 x Horns, and 50 x Strobes
